Bye Bye Baby Gear

This past Friday and Saturday we had our subdivision garage sale.  I'm not a huge fan of having garage sales but I had a lot of stuff to get rid of and I knew that this was the best way to do it.

Most of the stuff that I needed to get rid of was baby stuff.  All of this stuff has been down in my basement for a while now and I finally decided it was time to just get rid of it all.  I spent time cleaning, washing, and adding batteries to all of the bouncies, swings, and push toys.  I lined them all up and then . . .
I got really sad.

This was Kanin's bouncy chair when he was a baby.  The little guys on the top don't make music or light up anymore but the chair still vibrates.  I remember getting this at my baby shower for him.  All 3 of my kids sat in this chair.

We bought this swing when we had Grace.  Kanin loved his swing (it matched the bouncy) so much that it stopped working.  Both Caleb and Grace spent many days rocking in this swing.

The bassinet.  We got this for Grace so that she could sleep in it right beside my bed.  This one made me really sad.

And, the exersaucer.  Gracie and Caleb both LOVED this thing and would bounce and jump and scream and laugh whenever they played in it.

I know what you are thinking and NO I do not want another baby.  I am glad that all of these items are going to people who will actually use them.  Selling this stuff opened up a workout area for Scott and me down in the basement but it does feel like little pieces of my babies just left the house.

I am excited for the next phase with the kids, no strollers or diaper bag but I absolutely love the baby phase.  I know growing up is part of life but if it were up to me, I'd need to use all of this baby stuff forever.

  1. Awww ... I know how sad it makes me to rotate things out, but I'm hoping to use it again. I wish I lived closer, I definitely would have taken some of those riding toys off your hands!

  2. It is hard to let go of the baby stuff. I am thinking of getting rid of mine, I just haven't completely made up my mind that I am done.

  4. awe, I hate that...We had most of that same stuff, and I sold it at the resale shop and cried the entire time they checked things in...I was SO sad but then again, it's nice moving to that next stage without the baby stuff, right? who am I kidding, I have saved a Avent bottle, a binky, a burp cloth from each boy....I guess SOMEBODY can't let go huh? LOL

  5. Good for you!! Some people got some great baby gear! I get really sad when I think of getting rid of everything too. My attic is full of stuff that my hubby begs me to get rid of. I just can't stand the thought of no more babies. BUT just like you, we are done having them. =) Just ends a major part of my life--boo hoo! =)
Glad you freed up some space! You are on a roll. Wish you lived closer so you could come give me a push!! ;)
