For the past month I (literally) worked my butt of completing the 30 Day Shred. I took two days off (you get 0 days off during the Shred) and then I borrowed P90X from my sister and brother-in-law.
I told myself that I was not going to "go crazy" and commit to 90 days because #1 most of those workouts are at least an hour each and I don't have that much time and #2 my life literally revolved around the Shred and I didn't want to do that again. I was convinced, because I had heard how hard it was, that if I did P90X at least 4 times each week that it would be equivalent to the Shred.
I have to be honest, though, I really haven't found it to be that difficult. In fact, with a couple of the dvd's I've actually been a little disappointed in that I didn't feel like I felt after the
Shred . . .like I was going to die.
In fairness, I am doing the "lean" version of the Shred and I think that I need to move up in weights (just a bit, though).
What I'd like to know, though, is . . . have any of you completed the Shred and then moved on to P90X. Was it challenging? Could you tell a difference in the workouts and the results?
great question. I have done both programs. I LOVED the shred and liked p90x but saw more results with the shred combined with her 6 week 6 pack workout! I am on day 5 of RUSHFIT and you should take a look at this program, its kicking my butt...I'm VERY sore and feeling muscles I haven't felt in years :( sad but true, but I love the workouts because they are 45 minutes and your body hurts afterwards! I know that when I increased weights with p90x, it seemed to help and yes, the lean version was what I did and probably the other programs are pretty intense. My fav p90x vid was the plyometrics!
ReplyDeleteI just got P90X too! I haven't done all of the discs yet but I did feel that some workouts were kinda easy. I got Insanity too and let me tell you that is a freaking workout! I had to alter some of the moves to complete the program! I am going to be using Insanity as the cardio in place of the ones that came with P90X.
ReplyDeleteI love P90X! now I don't do it 6 days a week! but I really love the work outs...well except the yoga one. I find when it is yoga day..I delay working out. Other than that I can really feel the difference in my body muscle/fat make up. If that makes any sense
