Kicking the Binky Habit

I am proud to report that I have one less binky sucker in the house.  GracieAnn is officially binky-free!

The very first night was rough, for her and me.  She cried, she yelled, she kicked, she screamed.  She acted like what I would suspect a heroine addict goes through when they are trying to detox.  It was bad.

The Friday afternoon nap was bad, as well.  She cried for close to an hour.  Friday night I put them to bed early for hockey on Saturday.  She cried for about 15 minutes Friday night.

For Saturday afternoon's nap, though, not a whimper.  Last night she spent the night with Jeff and Nene and they said she went straight to bed and didn't even mention it.

I have to admit, though, that I am a little sad that she is old enough to not need a binky.  One more step in the growing process is complete.

  1. Or kiddos growing up is sad sometimes, at least you still have Caleb...i don't want Taylor to grow up at all...that's not good!! We can't stop it so we might as well enjoy it :)

  2. Yay you did it! I'm so nervous for this step but I know it's coming for us too. xo

  3. YAYAY! Sam has never really been into binkies. Although I think that left thumb she's starting to gnaw on is going to get a lot of use.

  4. Good for Gracie and you! It is a mini milestone and sometimes those make me as sad as the big ones do. =)
